Alexa Chung proves: This “old-fashioned” blazer is perfect for all minimalists who don’t want to wear black
Alexa Chung is known for daring to tackle pieces that we would never consider wardrobe staples at first glance. But the model teaches us better again and again. Why Alexa Chungs blazer choice us (again) so excited and why you should definitely know the look, you can read here.
Alexa Chung: That’s how good she looks in this supposedly boring piece
Blazers, blazers, blazers: In recent years, no one who is enthusiastic about fashion has been able to avoid them. Preferably in an XL fit, recently also tailored and mostly in black – because it looks so classy and goes with EVERYTHING. Whatever the version, almost no variant was spared. But only almost: Up to now we have tended to wear blazers in muted or totally bright colors – half measures have not been part of the trend so far. We did have beige or camel tones on our radar, but until now they weren’t as ubiquitous as the black classic. However, Alexa Chung now proves that they work at least as well. The model was last spotted in an oversized beige blazer, which she wore with a classic striped blouse and white trousers. She combined black heels and a white shoulder bag. Admittedly, the look seems a bit unspectacular at first glance – but that’s exactly what we love about it. Because let’s all be honest, our black or gray blazers aren’t particularly exciting either. What makes them so ingenious is their versatility. The fact that they can always be counted on to elevate an outfit and make it that (big) bit more exciting. They are the ultimate no-brains of our wardrobes. And from now on more often in beige!

Love at second sight: why Alexa Chung’s beige blazer is so awesome
Not convinced yet? We only fell in love at second sight. It’s hard to let an old love go. Believe me, nobody is such a loyal companion as my black XL blazer. But: It’s not super summery. Alexa Chung opens up a whole new world with her supposedly stuffy beige variant, which makes it possible for all blazer fans to step out of their comfort zone a little bit – and look super summery at the same time! Your blazer variant is therefore – contrary to what was initially assumed – not a granny piece, but the perfect alternative for our much-loved dark blazers or quilted jackets in spring and summer. If you’re worried that Alexa Chung’s color variant isn’t right for your own skin tone, you can of course also choose another sand-colored option. There are so many color variations and undertones that there is something for everyone. And if all else fails, simply imitate Alexa Chung and combine the light blazer with white: This easily creates the perfect contrast – and looks super summery. What more do you want?
